New Hampshire to Philadelphia, PA

After a 9 AM appointment and visit with Aspen, John and I hit the road. Our first stop was the Chesterfield Gorge in western New Hampshire. This wayside park conserves a rocky gorge with waterfalls along the Wilde Brook. We walked the .7 trail to stretch our legs before continuing to Philly.

We ended up driving about 500 miles. It was my first time in New Jersey, and I was amazed at the number of deer that were in the area. The day was long and hot. By the time we reached our hotel – Club Quarters at Rittenhouse in Philadephia, Pennsylvania – at 9 PM, it was still 89 degrees Fahrenheit. So happy to have an air-conditioned room! We crashed for the night, excited to explore Philly the next day.

Lessons learned:

  1. Buy a better water container. Ours punctured within the first hour of the trip, emptying water onto the back seats.
  2. Allow more time on drives for random stops.
